Our Stories: Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
Our Stories of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) videos are our first-hand lived experiences. Our belief is in the power of lived experiences and the importance of sharing.
We had been condemned to death by incarceration, resentenced, paroled, and successfully reintegrated into society. Now sharing our personal journeys and the impact of our experiences. These videos serve a powerful reminder that hurt people hurt, but children are capable of contrite and resilience. Despite our hardships, we have triumphed and are capable of thriving with the right support and opportunities.
Articulating our lived experiences not only provides objective evidence of successful habilitation and re-entry post-offense but also challenges the negative stereotypes and biases often associated with individuals who have suffered from ACEs.
